The disco diva sells her designer dresses and furniture in a two-day event.

It's not every day that a Hollywood fashion icon offers up her designer duds to the masses, but this week CHER is doing just that. The '70s glamour gal is auctioning off dozens of elaborate shoes, jewelry and costumes, many made by designer BOB MACKIE, on a redecorating whim.

The disco diva is redoing her Gothic-styled Malibu, CA, mansion and emptying her closets at a public auction to be held by Sotheby's and Julien's Auctions this Tuesday and Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Hilton.

"I took everything out of storage and you can't believe the stuff we found," she told Reuters. "Paintings from the first house I had with SONNY (her ex-husband and former singing partner) and all my children's Halloween costumes."

The glittering haul also includes lots of amusing personal memories supplied by the "I Got You Babe" and "Turn Back Time" singer. Of a green- and gold-beaded two-piece "phoenix" evening gown, Cher writes, "Twenty-seven years ago I frightened my son in this dress. He was about a year-and-a-half old and had never seen his mother as 'Cher.' I came up the stairs and called his name, he came running out of his room and took one look at me and started crying. I said, 'ELIJAH, it's me,' and he said, 'Mama?'"

A pair of mile-high Catalano platform shoes with multi-color rhinestones throughout the heels prompted her to recall that she bought a similar pair for gal pal BETTE MIDLER, who "called a couple of weeks later to say that she was walking in New York and fell."

Many of the clothes and accessories up for bid were seen on "The Sonny and Cher Show."

Also available are dozens of heavy crucifixes, wrought iron furniture and paintings. Fans can see more collectibles and memories from Cher online at juliensauctions.com.
