New Pics: Meet 'Survivor: Redemption Island''s Castaways!
The new castaways are here! Meet the 18 players who are competing for the title of "Sole Survivor" on CBS' "Survivor: Redemption Island."
Take a look at the 16 fresh faces, and two familiar faces from previous "Survivor" seasons, Russell Hantz and "Boston" Rob Mariano, who will also join the play. This season's players include two ex NFL players, an Iraqi veteran, a couple of beauty queens, a hunk with heart, a mean girl and more.
There is also a new twist to the game: Each week at Tribal Council when a castaway is voted off, they will be sent to an isolated island called "Redemption Island," where they will live alone. This may sound similar to Exile Island, but there is a new angle to it.
To stay on Redemption Island, the castaway will compete in a duel against the next person eliminated at Tribal Council and sent to the Island. The winner of each duel earns the right to continue fighting for an opportunity to return to the game. The loser is sent home.
