'Idol' Watch: These Are Judges in Name Only
This was a very important week in "American Idol" land -- not just because everyone in the Top 8 was scrambling to snatch up Pia's supporters, but because the judges were on notice for being waaay too easy on the contestants. Something they knew all too well.
Jennifer Lopez even remarked after one performance, "everybody wants us to be tough with your guys, but the truth is you all are so damn good. You need to do this, you need to do that, but all I really want to say is wow."
Ya'know what Jennifer? You can say "wow" all you want from the comfort of your couch, but you have been hired to act as one of three essential influencers, so it's your responsibility to say more than "wow."
But she didn't. And neither did Randy Jackson or Steven Tyler. In fact only one of the eight remaining Idol's received a negative critique (despite four people serving up slam-worthy songs). And wouldn't you know it, the unlucky one was a girl.
