President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hold hands as they arrive for the Medal of Honor ceremony for U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti at the White House in Washington D.C. For the ceremony, the First Lady choose a red Diane von Furstenberg frock paired with periwinkle blue heels.
The medal was posthumously awarded to Sgt. Monti, who was killed in action on June 21, 2006 in Afghanistan while attempting to rescue one of his fellow soldiers during an enemy insurgence.
