'Grey's Anatomy' Introduces 'Station 19' Heroine in Heart-Pounding Crossover Trailer

ABC

Worlds are colliding on TGIT.

Meet the heroine of Station 19!

In a new trailer for the upcoming episode of Grey's Anatomy, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial meet Station 19 firefighter Andy Herrera (Jaina Lee Ortiz) as the ambulance races to the hospital with her hand inside an unconscious 10-year-old boy with severe internal bleeding. After Glasses (Jake Borelli) yells at her to remove her hand from the kid's body, Andy puts her foot down and asks for a "grown-up." Never trust a surgical intern!

"What's your name?" Meredith asks Andy after she negates what Glasses just said.

"Herrera. Andy Herrera," he replies.

The situation is extremely dire for the young boy, whose fate lies in Andy's hands -- literally.

"I'm one fingertip away from this kid dying," Andy says in desperation, as we also get brief footage of Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) wheeling the gurney to an operating room and Ben Warren (Jason George) in his Station 19 gear. "I'm not killing a kid today."

When Meredith assures her that her day job as a firefighter has primed her for just this moment, Andy isn't so sure of herself: "What if I miss?"
