Cruise Calls Death-Defying 'M:I-4' Stunt 'Tricky'

The countdown to the release of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is on! ET's mission, should we choose to accept it: Journey to Dubai, interview Tom Cruise and ask him the crucial question: What was he thinking when he was sprinting and swinging around, tethered to the side of the world's tallest building?!!

"That was tricky, and the only one who could figure out how to do it was me because I was out there doing it," Tom tells our Mark Steines about one particular move -- and setting the record straight that it was indeed him doing the stunts atop the Burj Khalifa skyscraper: "Every shot."

Tom adds that during one particularly intense shot, he saw people during a guided tour waving at him from the inside of the building. But did he ever think that he could die doing the stunt?

"It doesn't really enter the mind," laughs Tom, who had to navigate crosswinds and time his stunt to avoid the intense heat of the day. "You're thinking, 'I don't want to fall,' but you're so focused on the task at hand. … We spent months and months figuring out how to do it."
