"Scarlett revealed to us that you have kind of a fear of snakes," ET's Christina McLarty asked Matt during a recent interview with the two stars.

"I did. I got over it," said Matt, who went on the reveal that Scarlett's teasing helped him to mask his dread.

Based on the book We Bought a Zoo: The Amazing True Story of a Young Family, a Broken Down Zoo and the 200 Zoo Animals that Changed Their Lives Forever by Benjamin Mee, We Bought a Zoo tells the true story of a single dad (Damon) who decides his family needs a fresh start, so he and his two children move to the most unlikely of places -- a zoo. With the help of an eclectic staff, and with many misadventures along the way, the family works to return the dilapidated zoo to its former wonder and glory.

We Bought a Zoo hits theaters December 23.
