BILLY BOB THORNTON reunites with his 'Astronaut Farmer' filmmakers MARK and MICHAEL POLISH for a new comedy with a sure-to-be-buzzed-about title, 'Manure,' and ET's THEA ANDREWS is on the set to get to the bottom of that memorable moniker!
BILLY BOB THORNTON, KIM BASINGER and BRANDON ROUTH, best know for the 2005 hit 'Superman,' are all currently in talks to star in 'The Informers,' a big-screen adaptation of the BRET EASTON ELLIS novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie, set in 1980s Los Angeles, tells the story of a week in the life of a movie executive (Thornton), his wife (Basinger), a vampire (Routh) as well as a rock star, kidnapper and the movie exec's mistress.
BILLY BOB THORNTON plays a former NASA astronaut-in-training who decides to "do it himself" in his new family adventure, 'The Astronaut Farmer,' in theaters February 23.
"All our little buddies around the neighborhood, we all played astronaut and stuff, and we admired those guys," the Oscar winner tells ET.

ASHTON KUTCHER has the top two films at the box office this weekend -- he stars in both the animated 'Open Season,' which made $23 million to take the top spot, and 'The Guardian,' which came in second with $17.7 million.
'Open Season' finds Ashton letting loose as Elliot, a fast-talking, scrawny, one-antlered mule deer who befriends a domesticated bear, Boog (MARTIN LAWRENCE). Looking to repay Boog for saving his life, Elliot frees him from captivity and reintroduces him into the wild -- with mixed results. The cartoon comedy also features the voices of GARY SINISE, DEBRA MESSING, BILLY CONNOLLY and JON FAVREAU.
This weekend, 'Napoleon Dynamite' star JON HEDER plays a hapless meter maid who's unlucky in love and life. Looking to take matters into his own hands, he enrolls in 'School for Scoundrels' under the rapier wit of none other than BILLY BOB THORNTON. Quickly gaining confidence in the game, Heder finds himself competing with Thornton for the same girl!

'The Guardian' is Ashton's first foray into the action-hero genre; he plays Jake Fischer, a cocky Coast Guard rescue swimmer recruit who butts heads with veteran instructor Ben Randall (KEVIN COSTNER) as he learns to become the best of the best. Under the tutelage of the sole survivor of a deadly crash, can Jake learn from Ben's mistakes? Also starring SELA WARD and MELISSA SAGEMILLER, the film is directed by 'The Fugitive' helmer ANDREW DAVIS.
'Friday Night Lights' star BILLY BOB THORNTON goes from tough football coach to gruff baseball grouch when he takes on the role of Coach Buttermaker in the updated version of 'The Bad News Bears,' in theaters July 22.
"The original was terrific, I think this time we equaled it, which is all you can ask for," Billy Bob tells ET. "I'm really proud of what we did and I think what they did was amazing."
Proud papa BILLY BOB THORNTON showed off his baby girl on the set of the all-new 'Bad News Bears,' a remake of the beloved 1976 WALTER MATTHAU classic.
"Her cheeks are so fat it looks like she swallowed tennis balls!" Thornton told our own LEONARD MALTIN as he showed pictures of his new daughter. "She is just a wonder, this kid."
Remember the Alamo? DENNIS QUAID, BILLY BOB THORNTON and JASON PATRIC sure do, and the acclaimed actors have teamed up for a recreation of the classic standoff at the historical landmark, in theaters Friday.
Growing up in Houston, Quaid said he was thrilled to be in the epic flick. "I remember playing the Alamo when I was a boy," he says. "And now I'm playing SAM HOUSTON -- my city's namesake."
