'Idol' Runner-up Blake Lewis Dropped by Record Label

Earlier this year, ET reported that former "American Idol" winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard had been dropped by their record labels. Today, we have confirmed that season six runner-up Blake Lewis has joined the unfortunate two and has been dropped by Arista Records.

The label issued the following statement to ET: "Arista Records will not be picking up Blake's option and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Jordin Sparks, Mariah Carey And Other Stars To Rock New Year's Eve

ET has learned that "American Idol" winner JORDIN SPARKS, "Idol" finalist BLAKE LEWIS and rock band LIFEHOUSE will ring in the new year with live performances on Monday, Dec. 31, at 11 p.m. on FOX.

The show also feaures the U.S. premiere of MARIAH CAREY's concert performance of "Shake It Off" from her new DVD 'The Adventures of Mimi.'
