America has voted and CRISTIAN DE LA FUENTE, JASON TAYLOR and KRISTI YAMAGUCHI are the three "Dancing with the Stars" finalists. If Kristi makes it to the final two, it will be the first time in four seasons that a woman has had a shot at winning the disco-ball trophy, and she may just be the one to do it. But first, all three competitors took to the floor for a cha cha face-off.

Monday night, "Dancing with the Stars" launched its semi-final night of competition with some strict rules: No lifts were allowed and the dancers chose their dances randomly, by drawing them out of a giant disco ball. The dances were dances that they had done before, but with new music and new choreography -- so there was a lot of work involved.

"Dancing with the Stars" is down to its final five: KRISTI YAMAGUCHI, JASON TAYLOR, CRISTIAN DE LA FUENTE, MARISSA JARET WINOKUR and MARIO -- and Monday tonight, each competitor had to dance both a ballroom dance and a Latin dance.

The heat was on in the ballroom on Monday night's competition show. "Dancing with the Stars" was down to its Final Six, and each of the six couples still in the running had to perform two dances this week: one ballroom; one Latin.

Despite the departure of PENN JILLETTE and MONICA SELES last week, host TOM BERGERON never announced which of the other "Dancing with the Stars" couples had been low scorers and who might be in jeopardy. So the nervous energy was high when the competitors took to the ballroom floor for Monday night's competition, dancing either the jive or the tango, and the battle for the disco-ball trophy is on!

The twelve "Dancing with the Stars" contestants took to the ballroom floor for either the mambo or the quickstep on this week's competition show. It was a stressful night for the celebs, because tomorrow night not one, but two couples will be sent home: The male star with the lowest number of combined votes, and the female star at the bottom of the point total.

It was Macho Monday on "Dancing with the Stars" when the six male contestants took to the ballroom floor for their first dance. And even though America votes, no one goes home this week. This week's scores will be added to next week's for a cumulative total.

The sixth season of "Dancing with the Stars" hasn't even started and ABC today announced the show has been picked up for another year [2008-2009]. Hosts TOM BERGERON and SAMANTHA HARRIS will be back, as will judges LEN GOODMAN, CARRIE ANN INABA and BRUNO TONIOLI.

Also receiving the green light for another year are "America's Funniest Home Videos," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Supernanny" and "Wife Swap."

Last night on "Dance War: BRUNO vs. CARRIE ANN," Team Bruno went up against Team Carrie Ann -- then America voted for the first time for the team they felt gave the best performance. ET was backstage with the two team leaders and series host DREW LACHEY to get their take on who they think will win the first night's vote.

The "Dance War" began in earnest last night when BRUNO TONIOLI and CARRIE ANN INABA picked their teams -- all of which are scheduled to perform next week with home audiences voting on who they like better! After nine, live electrifying performances -- two people had to pack their bags (CORINA and MAXX) and head home. ET was backstage with the team leaders to get the 411 on all the action.

BRUNO TONIOLI and CARRIE ANN INABA get out from behind the "Dancing with the Stars" judges' desk and face off in an all-new talent competition when ABC premieres "Dance War," Monday, January 7 at 8 p.m. Each judge will head up a team of amateur performers, who both sing and dance. Each week, viewers will watch as Bruno and Carrie Ann choreograph a number. Then the two teams compete -- and America votes for their favorite performance. And someone from the losing team goes home.
