Stars like ANNE HATHAWAY, her 'The Devil Wears Prada' co-star MERYL STREEP, WILMER VALDERRAMA came out Monday night in New York City for the "Magical Evening" event benefiting the CHRISTOPHER & DANA REEVE Foundation.
Look, up in the sky! After an absence of close to 20 years from the big screen, the superhero from Krypton is back in 'Superman Returns' -- and ET has the goods on the new movie from 'X-Men' director BRYAN SINGER, soaring into theaters June 28!
The Los Angeles premiere took place Wednesday night, and KEVIN FRAZIER chatted with the excited new Man of Steel BRANDON ROUTH about the movie and what his own personal Kryptonite is! "That's pizza and candy," he laughed.
CHRISTOPHER REEVE's widow DANA sadly passed away on March 6 after an almost year-long battle with lung cancer. Now, more than a month after her death, friends and family came together to say goodbye to the late singer, actress and activist.
The private memorial for Dana was held today at the New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd Street in Times Square. The family has requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made in Dana's honor to the Christopher Reeve Foundation (www.ChristopherReeve.org).
CHRISTOPHER REEVE's widow DANA showed her strength and courage while facing her husband's crippling injury. Now, she is putting on a brave face again as she copes with her diagnosis of lung cancer.
The 44-year-old widow released the following statement: "Based on the imminent release of a tabloid article regarding my personal health, my family and I have decided to release our own statement. I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, and am currently undergoing treatment. I have an excellent team of physicians, and we are optimistic about my prognosis."
It is four months since CHRISTOPHER REEVE succumbed to heart failure, and during that time, DANA REEVE, Chris' widow, hasn't sat down for an interview with the media. On Wednesday's "The OPRAH WINFREY Show" that is about to change when the talk-show queen broadcasts an exclusive interview in which Dana talks about her final moments with Chris and how the doctors struggled to keep him alive until she could get to his bedside.
"I came running into the elevator," the widow tells Oprah. "He was on the second floor. I ran up the stairs, I didn't want to wait for the elevator. I threw my things and ran into the room. It was clear to me that it was the end."
One of the last projects that CHRISTOPHER REEVE directed before his untimely death was the upcoming "The BROOKE ELLISON Story," premiering on Monday, Oct. 25, at 8 p.m., on A&E. The TV movie is the real-life story of Brooke, who was hit by a car 14 years ago and paralyzed from the neck down. Since that time, she has lived on a respirator and in a wheelchair, but has overcome her disability to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard.
"It's a message of hope," Brooke said at the screening. "It's a message of love that's applicable to everybody."
Funnyman ROBIN WILLIAMS takes a serious turn as a man who edits together the highlights of the dearly departed's life in his futuristic, new film, 'The Final Cut,' in theaters October 15.
Robin talks about his serious new flick and also remembers his good friend and former roommate, the late CHRISTOPHER REEVE.
The courageous and inspiring actor/director CHRISTOPHER REEVE, who passed away Sunday night at 52 from heart failure, was just as committed to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries like his own as he was to entertaining the world with his many talents. Tonight on ET, we take you inside the 'Superman' star's final days.
Just 10 days ago, Reeve was at the director's chair working on the feature length film 'Yankee Irving,' a computer animated fable set in the 1930's and due out in 2006. Producer RON TIPPE and writer ROB KURTZ were with him during his last days and describe his demeanor. "He was in great spirits and great form," Tippe said.
SIEGFRIED FISCHBACHER, one half of the legendary tiger-taming duo Siegfried & Roy, was in Germany this week to receive a special award on behalf of his partner, ROY HORN, who is still recovering from being mauled by one of their tigers during an October Las Vegas performance. Tonight on ET, get all the highlights from this exciting event!
Promising that the duo would return to the stage, the German-born entertainer told a cheering crowd, "The Siegfried who you see before you here will soon return again as Siegfried and Roy." Siegfried collected the special trophy at the 4th Annual World Awards, a culmination of the World Peace Conference held in Hamburg this week, headed by former Soviet leader MIKHAIL GORBACHEV.
