JIMMY SMITS segues from CBS's cancelled "Cane" to Showtime's hit series, "Dexter," about a serial killer who works for the Miami PD as a blood-spatter expert. Smits is onboard for a 10-episode arc as he hooks up with Dexter (MICHAEL C. HALL) to track down a murderer whose actions have personally affected both of their lives.
The hit Showtime series "Dexter" has made waves on the tube, and now it's getting set to enter the video game world, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

When blood spatter analyst Dexter Morgan (MICHAEL C. HALL) is not solving murders as a member of the Miami Police Department, he is a serial killer -- but with a set of rules. He only slices and dices those who escape justice for the heinous crimes they have committed.
Thanks to the writers strike, TV viewers who don't subscribe to Showtime will have the opportunity to check out the premium channel's critically acclaimed drama, "Dexter." An edited version of the first season of the series, starring MICHAEL C. HALL, will premiere on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 10 p.m.
Season two of the well-written, very smart "Dexter" is back with major drama in the serial killer's (MICHAEL C. HALL) life. At the end of the first season, Dexter's dumping grounds were uncovered. Now, FBI Special Agent Lundy (KEITH CARRADINE) is in Miami trying to hunt Dexter down.
When Showtime's historic drama "The Tudors" returns for its second season, legendary actor PETER O'TOOLE will join the cast as Pope Paul III; while over at the premium channel's forensic drama, "Dexter," KEITH CARRADINE has signed on to play an FBI agent.
The conclusion of season one of "The Tudors" found Henry VIII (JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS) obsessed with making his paramour, Anne Boleyn (NATALIE DORMER), his queen, but is thwarted by the Church. In the second season premiere next spring, Henry secretly marries Anne, declaring his marriage to Katherine (MARIA DOYLE KENNEDY) invalid. Pope Paul III makes the decision to excommunicate Henry, and the two have an on-going feud with a fall-out that has repercussions in England to this day.
Showtime has announced that it will run a second season of its new drama series "Dexter," the main character of which is described as a likeable serial killer.
Played by MICHAEL C. HALL from "Six Feet Under" fame, Dexter Morgan is a blood spatter expert in the forensics department of the Miami Police Department. Dexter serves up his own brand of justice by killing criminals who he believes have escaped justice.

Obviously, this is not your mother's "CSI." This is the story about a serial killer who is so organized he's virtually untouchable, and who has learned to channel his impulses from his adopted father, Harry (JAMES REMAR), a police detective.
