The highly anticipated Daytime Emmy nominations were announced today on "The View," with "The DR. PHIL Show," "The TYRA BANKS Show" and "A Place of Our Own," earning nominations for Outstanding Talk Show Informative. Meanwhile, "The RACHAEL RAY Show," "The View" and "The ELLEN DEGENERES Show" won nominations for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment. On tonight's ET, JANN CARL sits down with Dr. PHIL McGRAW and wife ROBIN to set the record straight on the state of their marriage. TV's top doc and his wife are open and candid with the ET weekend host. Don't miss it! Then, Dr. Phil gives us a sneak peek at next Monday's show, "A Secret Inside! Extreme Hoarding," on which he features a woman who can't throw away food and a multitude of other items to the extent that her children are forced to sleep on the couch, because they can't reach their bedrooms! The powerful pair reminisces on their 10-year friendship as the talk-show queen helps TV's top doc celebrate his 1000th episode on Monday, February 11. DR. PHIL McGRAW is speaking out to ET over the recent flap stemming from his meeting with BRITNEY SPEARS, who was hospitalized for observation last weekend after a standoff with ex KEVIN FEDERLINE, in which she refused to hand over custody of their two boys.

PHIL McGRAW talks to our KEVIN FRAZIER about his involvement with BRITNEY SPEARS, reiterating his help was requested specifically by her family, saying, "I want to make it very clear that I went to see Britney at the request of her family. That was private and it will stay private. I've been working with this family behind the scenes for a long time, longer than you can imagine. We decided to pay her a visit in the hospital. Getting into Cedars-Sinai is like getting into Fort Knox. I was met at the elevator by a family member then we all left at the same time, because she had been discharged." 
ET and The Insider just finished the first exclusive sit-down interview with DR. PHIL one day after he met BRITNEY SPEARS at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Watch exclusive excerpts from "The Early Show" with our KEVIN FRAZIER, and tune in to tonight's ET for more! As to the reported show dedicated to the troubled pop star, Dr. Phil tells us, "As was widely reported this weekend, at the request of concerned family members, I visited Britney Spears in the hospital. The details of that visit will, of course, remain private. We had planned to tape a Dr. Phil Now show tomorrow, focusing not on the tabloid side of Britney's latest problems, but instead on the very serious issues surrounding this case. Clearly, it is not just Britney's family struggling to find a way to protect adult children who cannot be ordered or compelled to seek help.

DR. PHIL offers ET his candid impressions of BRITNEY SPEARS' current condition: "My meeting with Britney and some of her family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention. She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her."

DR. PHIL was seen in the hospital visiting with BRITNEY and members of her family prior to her release this morning, and he even walked the "Toxic" singer to her car afterward, sources tell us. According to the Cedars-Sinai, there was no reason to keep Britney any longer, ET has learned. |
