CHRIS ROCK has been an active part of "Everybody Hates Chris" since the show's inception. After all, the material for the series is loosely based on his childhood in Bedford-Stuyvesant, which is located in Brooklyn, New York. But for the "Everybody Hates Corleone" episode, the Emmy-winning comic is going one step further and directing an episode for the very first time.

Chris tells ET's MARY HART that he waited until now to direct "because you want the beginning and the end to go as smoothly as possible. I didn't want to direct the pilot, but I was right there. Even my own talk show, I wrote the beginning and the end."

On "Survivor: Guatemala -- the Maya Empire," both the Nakum and Yaxha tribes are sent to Tribal Council and have to vote a member out. But first the castaways compete for a food reward, which includes alcohol, because one member of the winning tribe gets drunk and becomes obnoxious. A grueling physical challenge pushes two castaways to the breaking point. And Tribal Council takes an interesting twist, when one of the survivors insults a member of his or her tribe and increases their chances of being voted off. "Survivor: Guatemala" airs on CBS at 8 p.m.

"Everybody Loves Raymond" just wrapped up a successful nine-year run on CBS, and now "Everybody Hates Chris" premieres this fall on UPN. The new sitcom is based on the life of comic CHRIS ROCK, just as "Raymond" was based on the life of RAY ROMANO. On being quizzed about the similarity in the titles, Chris kids that the other names he considered were "Mad About Chris Rock," "Rockfeld" and "Let's Shoot Chris in the Head," but "they couldn't get that one by the censors."

Chris grew up in a loving, two-parent household in Bedford-Stuyvesant, one of the worst ghettos in New York City, and says he didn't know until he was 19 or 20 just how tough a neighborhood it was.

"I think we will see sitcoms coming back and it is a welcome relief for the fall schedule," says Debra. "There are a lot of exciting sitcoms coming down the pike following on the success of 'Two and a Half Men.' I think people are looking for a reason to sit back and laugh after the success of shows like 'Friends,' 'Frasier ' and 'Sex and the City.' People really miss those shows and they are looking for a replacement.
