The first season of "Damages" won three out of the seven Emmy Awards for which it was nominated, including a statuette for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for its star Glenn Close. Glenn plays Patty Hewes, one of the most reviled high-stakes litigators in the U.S.

Heiress Martha "Sunny" von Bulow, who was portrayed by Glenn Close in the 1991 film 'Reversal of Fortune,' has died at age 76, says the Associated Press. She spent her final 28 years in a coma that prosecutors, during high profile trials in the 1980s, alleged her husband inflicted upon her.

With one of the most shocking season premieres ever, "Damages" had audiences riveted to their seats with the slaying of a family pet, high-stakes legal manipulations and murder most foul. In fact, the season has seen multiple murders. It is such a thriller that series star TED DANSON, who plays the allegedly corrupt Arthur Frobisher, tells ET he heard that the series has very little tune-out once people tune-in.
Following in the footsteps of FX network's powerful dramas "Nip/Tuck," "Rescue Me" and "The Shield," comes the newest entry into the lineup, "Damages," premiering tonight at 10 p.m.
The series stars GLENN CLOSE as tough-as-nails defense attorney Patty Hewes, a woman who is not afraid to take on the big cases -- and win -- but by sometimes questionable means.
Five-time Oscar nominee GLENN CLOSE will star in her first television series for the FX Network this summer, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"Damages," a legal thriller, will feature the actress as a powerful New York attorney. Production for the new drama began in February.
