KATHERINE HEIGL's former "Grey's Anatomy" co-stars are going on the record with ET about her decision to remove herself from Emmy contention because of being given material she didn't feel was worthy of Emmy consideration.
Former co-star ISAIAH WASHINGTON, no stranger to controversy himself, spoke candidly about the situation. "It's unfortunate that what is happening is happening. I understand both sides, I was there. I know exactly where everyone's coming from."

Celebs including KATHERINE HEIGL and ISAIAH WASHINGTON picket alongside striking writers Wednesday outside of the Paramount Studios lot.
LUCY LIU, ANNE HECHE, REBECCA ROMIJN and new hubby JERRY O'CONNELL, and MILEY CYRUS were just some of the stars celebrating at the Disney-ABC Television Group's All-Star Event at the Beverly Hilton Thursday night -- and ET got the scoop from the cavalcade of celebs!
Earlier in the day, ABC stars dished with ET at the Television Critics Association press event. "Grey's Anatomy" star KATE WALSH, who's starring in the spin-off "Private Practice" with TAYE DIGGS, shared some thoughts about her upcoming wedding to fiance to ALEX YOUNG while dispelling rumors.
ISAIAH WASHINGTON made headlines earlier this month when he talked to LARRY KING about his controversial departure from "Grey's Anatomy," but now the actor appears to be putting the incident behind him and moving on with his career.
According to USA Today, the former TV doc will guest star in the forthcoming remake of the 70's TV cult classic, "The Bionic Woman."
The gloves came off on Monday night's "LARRY KING Live," when the very outspoken ISAIAH WASHINGTON talked about the anti-gay slur that resulted in his firing from "Grey's Anatomy."
"I expected something," Isaiah told the talk-show host when asked about being released from his "Grey's" contract. "I didn't know that it would happen. Because I resigned. I tried to resign twice."

Former "Grey's Anatomy" star ISAIAH WASHINGTON is still speaking out about his departure from the hit ABC show, this time to Newsweek.com.
In the interview, he addresses his much-talked-about confrontation with co-star PATRICK DEMPSEY on the "Grey's" set, and voices some strong opinions on how he was treated after he went to "homophobia reprogramming" in the wake of making anti-gay slurs.

The very outspoken ISAIAH WASHINGTON talks to LARRY KING tonight about the anti-gay slur that resulted in his firing from "Grey's Anatomy."
"I expected something," he tells the talk-show host on tonight's "Larry King Live" when asked about being released from his "Grey's" contract. "I didn't know that it would happen. Because I resigned. I tried to resign twice."

ISAIAH WASHINGTON was let go from ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" on June 7, but now the actor is saying it's his former co-star T.R. KNIGHT who should have gotten the axe.
"They fired the wrong guy," he says in an interview with the Houston Chronicle, telling them it should have been Knight. "I have to clear my name. I'll start from the beginning. I'm telling everything. So here's the truth."

ISAIAH WASHINGTON is speaking out in his first interview since the announcement that he will not be returning to "Grey's Anatomy."
The former TV doc tells Entertainment Weekly that he's naturally upset by the outcome, saying, "I did everything that the producers and the network asked me to do. I came back under great duress and stress, and thought I was doing the job I was hired to do. I thought that was going to speak for my future at 'Grey's,' but apparently that wasn't the same vision that the network and studio had for me."

CHANDRA WILSON, who stars as Dr. Miranda Bailey on ABC's hit drama, "Grey's Anatomy," will be hanging up her white coat and stethoscope this summer to host SOAPnet's live, two-hour special from the red carpet of the "34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards," airing Friday, June 15, at 7 p.m. Wilson, a longtime soap fan who admits to watching four hours of soaps a day, is looking forward to chatting with the folks from her favorite shows.
"[Soaps] have been in my life since I was a little girl," admits Chandra, who watches all three ABC soaps -- "All My Children," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital," plus "The Young and the Restless." "My grandmother watched; my mom watched. It has always been a part of my day. This is a treat for me to hang out and play with all the folks."
