WILL SMITH is no stranger to playing real-life characters on film. Who can forget his Academy Award®-nominated performance in 'Ali'? The role as the heavyweight champ put the former "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" on the map as a serious actor.

Now, in 'The Pursuit of Happyness,' opening December 15, Smith once again takes on the difficult challenge of playing a real-life person. This time out, the man of the hour is CHRIS GARDNER, a single father who struggled to make ends meet as a salesman, and in a 'Rocky'-type story, he turned his life around to become a successful stockbroker.
