"Malcolm in the Middle" was a surprise hit when it first arrived on television screens five years ago. Now the FOX series, with five Emmys and the prestigious Peabody Award to its credit, celebrates its 100th show on Sunday, Feb 22, at 9 p.m.
In the episode, Lois (JANE KACZMAREK) is reunited with her sister Susan (played by LAURIE METCALF, "Roseanne"), who has never quite forgiven Hal (BRYAN CRANSTON) for dumping her for Lois. The tension mounts between the two sibs when Susan gives Malcolm (FRANKIE MUNIZ) and his older brother Reese (JUSTIN BERFIELD) her prize 1965 Mustang convertible. But when Lois discovers the true reason for her sister's visit -- Susan needs a kidney transplant -- she manages to put aside her anger and offers to donate her kidney. As only can happen on this twisted comedy, instead of appreciating the gesture, Susan perceives it as the perfect opportunity for Lois to one-up her.
