"Lost" doc MATTHEW FOX has joined the cast of 'Speed Racer' as the mysterious Racer X, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Adapted from the '60s Japanese anime cartoon, 'Speed Racer' centers on a young driver, played by 'Alpha Dog' star EMILE HIRSCH, and his gadget-filled Mach 5 racecar.

CHRISTINA RICCI is set to go from indie film queen to big-budget heroine in the WACHOWSKI BROTHERS live-action adaptation of the 1960s cartoon "Speed Racer."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 'Black Snake Moan' star will play opposite 'Alpha Dog' and 'Lords of Dogtown' hottie EMILE HIRSCH -- who will play the iconic title character -- as his girlfriend, Trixie.

It's official. ROB LOWE, GARY SINISE, MELINA KANAKAREDES, JOHN GOODMAN, JOE PANTOLIANO, DEAN CAIN and JASON ALEXANDER will join the CBS lineup this fall. The eye network announced on Wednesday that it had picked up two comedies and three dramas for its 2004-2005 schedule.

With the return of 16 primetime programs, CBS is keeping the majority of its slate, including two editions of "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours Mystery," 13 entertainment series, plus "The Amazing Race" and the "CBS Sunday Movie."
