Just in: JOHN RITTER's widow AMY YASBECK poses with the artist who created this 50-foot mural on display at the late actor's alma mater, Hollywood High School. Joining Amy at the unveiling was her and John's 9-year-old daughter STELLA.
JOHN RITTER's widow AMY YASBECK is seeking a new trial regarding her husband's death. The Associated Press obtained papers from CelebTV.com indicating that on April 1, Yasbeck filed a notice of intent to file a motion for a new trial; the papers go on to reveal that on April 10 she was granted an extension until May 1 to file the motion, according to the AP.

Moments ago, the jury returned in the JOHN RITTER wrongful death case, the Associated Press reports. They found that both doctors were not at fault and have cleared them of negligence in the treatment and untimely death of the actor.
HENRY WINKLER took the stand today in JOHN RITTER's wrongful death trial, in which Ritter's family is seeking $67 million. "This is very emotional," he told our JANN CARL as he entered the Glendale, CA, courthouse.
Opening statements in the medical negligence lawsuit against two of JOHN RITTER's physicians are set to begin Monday. The suit, filed by the late actor's family, claims that Ritter, who died September 11, 2003, would have lived had doctors recognized he had a tear in his aorta and not treated it like a heart attack.
The Associated Press reports that jury selection is set to begin Tuesday in the medical negligence lawsuit against two of JOHN RITTER's physicians. The suit was filed by Ritter's family.
In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times, JOHN RITTER's widow AMY YASBECK is speaking out for the first time about her husband's death, saying she believes it could have been avoided.
The beloved actor died on his daughter's fifth birthday, September 11, 2003. At the time, Amy believed it was not preventable. "The doctors told it to me like I was five and I told it to [our daughter] like she was five," she said in an interview with The Times. "The truth is, it's a lot more complicated and it's a lot more sad."
It's been more than a year since JOHN RITTER's passing, so to fill the void for fans who have been missing the actor's unique charm and abundant talent, on Dec. 14, SRO Entertainment/Kultur® will release a DVD of a rarely seen, hourlong sketch comedy special starring the beloved comedian.
On tonight's ET, we have an advance look at the wild and wonderful "John Ritter: Being of Sound Mind & Body," which also stars John's "Three's Company" co-stars SUZANNE SOMERS and JOYCE DeWITT, as well as the legendary master of horror VINCENT PRICE and "WKRP in Cincinnati"'s HOWARD HESSEMAN.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse weren't the only celebrities in Disneyland over the weekend. Some of ABC's biggest stars descended on the California theme park for the network's third annual "ABC Primetime Preview Weekend" -- and ET was there!
The weekend celebration was especially bittersweet for the returning cast members of "8 Simple Rules," however -- including KATEY SAGAL, KALEY CUOCO, DAVID SPADE and JAMES GARNER -- whose beloved cast mate JOHN RITTER died exactly one year ago of a ruptured aorta.
From BOB HOPE to KATHARINE HEPBURN and GREGORY PECK, many notable entertainers took their final curtain calls in 2003, but perhaps the most shocking was the passing of funnyman JOHN RITTER. He was only 54.
The star of "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter," died as the result of an undiagnosed heart condition. Best known for his role as Jack Tripper on the '70s TV phenom "Three's Company," Ritter reportedly fell ill while on the set of his ABC sitcom and passed away shortly before 10 p.m. on Sept. 11, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA. His publicist stated he died from a dissection of the aorta. Ritter, whose 55th birthday would have been the following week (Sept. 17), left behind his wife, actress AMY YASBECK, and their daughter, STELLA, who celebrated her fifth birthday the day her father died. Ritter was previously married to NANCY MORGAN, with whom he had three children, including JASON RITTER, a cast member of the hit CBS drama, "Joan of Arcadia," daughter CARLY and son TYLER.
Christmas will never be the same again after audiences catch BILLY BOB THORNTON as the crankiest, booziest and most crooked Chris Kringle-impersonator ever. Tonight on ET, our own LEONARD MALTIN catches up with Billy Bob to talk about his new movie!
"Audiences love it, [but] there have been two or three reviews I've seen that have said, 'Oh my god, this thing is so offensive I can't believe it -- but I laughed anyway,'" says Billy Bob. "It's going to be added to the list of holiday classics and be in its own category."
Before he passed away in September, JOHN RITTER had a few other projects he was finishing up in addition to his "8 Simple Rules" duties. His final big-screen appearance is in the holiday comedy 'Bad Santa,' co-starring BILLY BOB THORNTON and debuting in theaters November 26.
But John had another passion that was extremely close to his heart: bringing attention to people with disabilities. Tonight on ET, we have Billy Bob's words for John as he introduces the late actor's pet project, the documentary "Given a Chance ... A Little Girl's Journey."
