ET earlier reported that Nicole Richie will play a super villain in "Chuck" when the spy drama returns for its second season on NBC, but now we have the inside scoop from the set of what really happens!
ET has confirmed that new mom Nicole Richie is heading back to work when she guest stars on an episode of "Chuck," NBC's hour-long comedy series about spies, which will air this fall.
News of a "Gossip Girl" spin-off series, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter this morning may be premature, according to the show's creator/executive producer JOSH SCHWARTZ, who told Entertainment Weekly:

The show, about the relationships and friendships between Newport Beach's haves and have-nots, ended last season with the shocking death of MISCHA BARTON's character, Marissa Cooper, in a car crash. In the new season, creator JOSH SCHWARTZ said many characters will be effected by the tragedy's aftermath, especially Marissa's best friend, Summer.
When "The O.C." returns for its fourth season, it will be a MISCHA BARTON-less zone, as her character Marissa died in a car crash in last season's finale.
"It was weird initially," says executive producer/creator JOSH SCHWARTZ of returning to work this year without the young star. "She is definitely missed, but everybody understood the new creative direction the show is headed. Her character is honored coming into the season, but everybody is back at it. The show must go on."
It is senior year when "The O.C." returns for its third season on FOX, Thursday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m., and Executive Producer JOSH SCHWARTZ promises there will be a wedding, a funeral and a bar mitzvah, there will be some old faces returning and some exciting new characters.
