There was a trouble-maker in Judge Judy's courtroom today -- but it wasn't a boisterous defendant! Rather, the 5.4-grade earthquake that rocked Los Angeles late Tuesday morning also brought Judge Judy's taping to an abrupt halt, as seen in our video above. Brace yourself for the sight of the set trembling and groaning as the natural disaster makes its force felt!

The "Big Brother" set also was surprised by the quake. Watch as the stars of the reality show gasp and huddle together, wondering what to do!

"When she called and said, 'Would you speak to my kids?' -- I hadn't spoken to young people in a very long time," JUDGE JUDY tells ET of getting the request from singer CHAKA KHAN to speak to 50 disadvantaged kids from the Los Angeles area.

"Some looked really interested; some looked fascinated with what was going on," she says of the 6th to 8th graders, who were also invited to watch a taping of the Emmy-nominated show. "If I've reached 10 of them, it's been a successful morning."
