New video: The night before the horses took to the track for the 134th annual Kentucky Derby, ET was at the legendary Barnstable Brown pre-race soiree, where we caught up with LARRY BIRKHEAD, HEIDI MONTAG and  SPENCER PRATT, JERRY O'CONNELL, JOEY FATONE, NICK LACHEY and HUGH HEFNER. The party benefited diabetes research.

Photographer LARRY BIRKHEAD hit the Kentucky Derby this weekend and even attended the Barnstable Party while his eight-month-old daughter DANNIELYNN was said to be in the care of those close to the new dad.

"I've got my cell phone on, waiting to call the nanny to make sure everything's okay," he told us. "Actually, I've got two cell phones on!"

Moviegoers resoundingly chose action and family films at theaters this past weekend. Gamers and sci-fi fans catapulted THE ROCK to the No. 1 spot with $15.4 million for 'Doom.' The popular ex-wrestler used a variety of high-tech weapons to mow down bloodthirsty aliens in the heavy artillery thriller, based on the hit video game.

CHARLIZE THERON's mining town drama 'North Country' opened in fifth place, while coming in second was the horseracing movie, 'Dreamer: Inspired By A True Story.' The touching tale centers on a charming young girl named Cale Crane [DAKOTA FANNING], whose love and dedication help bring her father Ben Crane [KURT RUSSELL], back from the edge of despair.

'Dreamer: Inspired By A True Story' is the touching tale of a charming young girl named Cale Crane [DAKOTA FANNING], whose love and dedication help bring her father Ben Crane [KURT RUSSELL], back from the edge of despair.

Ben is a seasoned horse trainer, and when he's fired from his training job, he's given an injured race horse named Sonya as severance pay. He eventually hands the horse over to young Cale, who puts her hopes and dreams into nursing the horse back to health, in a long-shot attempt to take on the legendary Breeders' Cup Classic.
