Dennis Farina plead no contest to carrying a weapon into a secured area, the Los Angeles Superior Court tells ET.
The "Law & Order" star was arrested in May on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon after police say they found a .22-caliber handgun in his briefcase as he tried to pass through security at LAX airport.
The series finale of "Law & Order" featuring a prominent politician caught up in a controversy involving a call girl may sound familiar to viewers and cast alike! Asked if the show planned to do a spin on the ELIOT SPITZER scandal, series star SAM WATERSTON told the Associated Press, "That's what we're shooting right now."
He went on to clarify, "I shouldn't say we're doing the Eliot Spitzer story. I should say we're doing a story about a politician who gets into trouble because of sexual questions ... involving prostitution."
After nine years on "Law & Order," JESSE L. MARTIN will be exiting his role as Detective Ed Green on the long-running drama, as ANTHONY ANDERSON joins the cast as Detective Kevin Bernard, an Internal Affairs officer who wants to work homicide.
Anderson wants to make it clear that his character did not volunteer for the IA job; rather he was recruited straight out of the police academy.
NBC will only be adding four new shows to its schedule this fall: "My Own Worst Enemy" starring CHRISTIAN SLATER, "Kath & Kim," an Australian import starring MOLLY SHANNON and SELMA BLAIR, "Knight Rider," which was introduced as a two-hour movie, and "Crusoe."
Fans of "Friday Night Lights" can rest easy. Despite the critically acclaimed show's so-so ratings, it is returning, but not until the winter. It will first air on DirecTV, as part of a special deal that NBC made in order to continue producing new episodes of the series.
NBC today announced that April will mark the return of new episodes of several of its comedy and drama series. Those shows not named below are still under consideration with an announcement to come later. The network also announced pickups for the 2008-2009 season for "Chuck," "Life" and "Heroes."
"Law & Order" is famous for ripping stories from the headlines. A perfect example is tonight's show, starring LIZA MINNELLI as a former beauty queen whose daughter was murdered on Halloween in 1992 -- the case is never solved until the present day, when a pedophile confesses.
But the series is also famous for recycling its talent. For example, CHRIS NOTH began his career on the mothership "Law & Order" as Detective Mike Logan, partnering with the late JERRY ORBACH, who played Detective Lennie Briscoe. Now Chris is on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," reprising his "L&O" character. He isn't the only actor on the show who has starred on a different series in the franchise. He was joined this season by JULIANNE NICHOLSON, who first became a part of the "L&O" family as a member of "Conviction." But on "Criminal Intent," she plays a different character.
NBC's "Law & Order" franchise continues to rip stories from the headlines, as LIZA MINNELLI makes a special guest appearance on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," in an episode airing in November.
Minnelli will play a former beauty queen whose daughter was murdered on Halloween night 1992, but the case has gone cold. It hits the headlines again when a pedophile confesses to the crime.
"Saturday Night Live" alum Chevy Chase marks his return to NBC with an episode of "Law & Order" that is definitely ripped from recent headlines. In the "In Vino Veritas" episode, Chase guest stars as a celebrity who is pulled over for driving while intoxicated. The matter is complicated when the cops observe that his clothes are covered in blood -- and Chase's character adds fuel to the fire by spouting controversial religious statements.
"In Vino Veritas" is scheduled to air on Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 p.m.
It was a year that saw the loss of "Everybody Loves" Raymond," several shows celebrated milestones and ABC became the comeback kid with several hit series, while CBS retained its first place hold on the ratings with the help of its popular procedural dramas, such as No. 1 "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Everybody loved Raymond, so it was hard to say goodbye to the popular comedy when it aired its final episode. "I'm going to miss the cast and I'm going to miss the writers," RAY ROMANO told MARK STEINES at the "Everybody Loves Raymond" wrap party at Hangar 8 in Santa Monica last May. "I've been lucky enough to be in the writing room and I've never laughed as much in my whole life as the time I've spent with these guys in the writers' room." If you, too, miss the CBS series, "Raymond"'s 210 episodes are in syndication on 191 stations nationwide, with close to 17 million people tuning in each week for encore guffaws and giggles.
It may be in its seventh season, but "Law & Order: SVU" is still a war horse for NBC. The DICK WOLF creation, as well as being a ratings winner for NBC, is critically acclaimed. And it didn't hurt the show's popularity when MARISKA HARGITAY won an Emmy® last year for her role as Detective Olivia Benson.
The powerful drama and its Emmy-attention-getting storylines continues this year as Olivia begins to question her life, and her partner, Detective Elliot Stabler (CHRISTOPHER MELONI), who last year began to crumble and required Olivia's support, now pulls himself together to come to his partner's aid.
