Maggie Gyllenhaal reveals to ET while she did not grow up a typical "comic book girl," her experience making 'The Dark Knight' made her a believer that a superhero film can also be incredibly romantic.
Gyllenhaal also speaks about being able to collaborate with director Christopher Nolan on different aspects of her character, including a surprise twist in the much-anticipated film -- set to open on Friday!
ET's Kevin Frazier sits down with Christian Bale, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Aaron Eckhart and Gary Oldman as they remember their late co-star, Heath Ledger, and prepare for the opening of the 'Batman Begins' sequel, 'The Dark Knight.'
The cast and crew were understandably devastated when Heath, who plays the new Joker, passed away in January of an accidental overdose of prescription medication. The movie, which opens July 18, has been dedicated to the late actor and father.

'Stranger Than Fiction' and 'Sherrybaby' Golden Globe nominee MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL is in final talks to play the role of Rachel Dawes in the 'Batman Begins' sequel, 'The Dark Knight.' Gyllenhaal would replace KATIE HOLMES, who has dropped out of the film.
She joins new cast members HEATH LEDGER as The Joker and AARON ECKHART as Two-Face. Of course, CHRISTIAN BALE is back as Batman/Bruce Wayne, along with MICHAEL CAINE as Alfred the butler, MORGAN FREEMAN and GARY OLDMAN. CHRISTOPHER NOLAN will once again direct, with a late spring or early summer start date and a July 18, 2008 release date.

Imagine waking up one morning and hearing a voice in your head narrating your every move and thought. Well, that's just what happens to WILL FERRELL's Harold Crick in the quirky new dramedy 'Stranger Than Fiction,' arriving in theaters November 10.
"I think, at the start, Harold is generally freaked out by the whole thing," says Ferrell. "He's worried, upset and doesn't know what to think, because he's not sure if what's happening to him is real or not. His reactions are typical of those most of us would have. The comedy comes from his attempts to maintain his composure so no one think he's crazy."

Congrats are in order for actress MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL and her fiancé, 'Kinsey' actor PETER SARSGAARD. The couple welcomed a baby girl, named RAMONA, Tuesday in New York City.
A publicist for the pair reports that "Mom, Dad and baby are healthy and happy."

The mysterious death of '50s TV "Superman" GEORGE REEVES is investigated in 'Hollywoodland,' with BEN AFFLECK donning the infamous red boots and cape. The typecast actor was found dead with a bullet to his head in his bedroom in 1959, and the jury is out to this day as to whether it was suicide or murder. DIANE LANE is the older woman and wife of a studio head who was having an affair with Reeves, and ADRIEN BRODY plays the gumshoe investigating the case.
