Twelve years after ending her eight-year run on "Full House" -- the show that made her famous -- MARY-KATE OLSEN is back on TV, and ET is with the headline-making twin!
"I was so happy to be invited on the show," Mary-Kate tells us. "It's such a smart show, and everyone's so talented. ... I really just jumped right in."
MATTHEW MODINE will join the cast of Showtime's "Weeds" when the dramedy returns to Showtime for its third season on Monday, August 13.
Modine will play Sullivan Groff, a real estate developer in charge of Majestic, a new Christian, mega-church development being built near Agrestic, the town in which the series is set. Groff and Nancy Botwin (series star MARY-LOUISE PARKER) will strike up a mutually beneficial business arrangement. Modine will appear in at least 10 of the season's 15 episodes.
"Weeds" isn't going to pot! The hit Showtime series, starring MARY-LOUISE PARKER in her Golden Globe-winning portrayal of Nancy Botwin, was just given the greenlight for 15 episodes of a third season.
The network's most-watched comedy, "Weeds" is a satirical look at the life of a suburban housewife who turned to pot dealing as a way to pay the bills following the death of her husband.
"Weeds" lights up for a second season on Monday, August 14 at 10 p.m., when the Showtime series, starring MARY-LOUISE PARKER as pot dealer Nancy Botwin and ELIZABETH PERKINS as her best friend/PTA president Celia Hodes, returns to the tube.
The premise of the series, nominated for five Emmys, is simple. Following her husband's death, Nancy discovers she is short of funds, so she turns to a new profession: dealing dope. What surprises her is just who her clientele includes!
ROB LOWE is among several former stars of "The West Wing" returning to the show for the NBC drama's final episodes. Lowe, who left the program in 2003, will reprise his role as White House Deputy Communications Director Sam Seaborn in the final two episodes. Other stars reprising their roles in one or more of the final five episodes are MARY-LOUISE PARKER, MARLEE MATLIN, GARY COLE, TIM MATHESON, ANNABETH GISH, TIMOTHY BUSFIELD, ANNA DEAVERE SMITH and "CSI: Miami"'s EMILY PROCTER. The series finale is scheduled to air May 14.
From a drug-dealing single mom played by MARY-LOUISE PARKER to a pot-smoking city councilman played by KEVIN NEALON, the new Showtime series "Weeds" finds itself steeped in buzz-making controversy, including the storyline revolving around a domineering mother's treatment towards her overweight daughter.
ELIZABETH PERKINS, who plays uptight PTA member Celia Hodes, verbally abuses her tween daughter Isabella on the soccer field, calling her "Isabelly" and telling her she needs to run more and only drink water and diet soda, all the while deciding if she should stick with the nutritionist or put her daughter on thyroid medication!
