Following the battle of the engagement bling (she says she's keeping it, he thinks it should go to charity), reasons behind the 'Bachelor' break-up between Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas are now being revealed.
"I'm used to the Hollywood BS," Shayne, the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas tells Us Weekly. "But it really got into Matt's head."
Not getting married may be the one thing about ending their relationship that British "Bachelor" Matt Grant and his now ex-fiancée Shayne Lamas agree on.
Yesterday, Shayne announced that she's keeping the 2.85 carat engagement ring "forever!" and that it was okay with Matt, but today, in a statement to People, he disputes that announcement.
Days after re-affirming their love on national TV, Matt Grant and Shayne Lamas have split, according to People.com. The two issued a statement saying: "We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions. We truly care about each other and will remain close friends."
Matt proposed to aspiring actress Shayne on the season finale of "The Bachelor: London Calling" with a $60,000, 2.85-carat Tacori platinum and diamond eternity ring. But after rumors in the press, the couple appeared together on the finale of sister show, "The Bachelorette," earlier this month to deny that they had since broken up.
Lorenzo Lamas tells reporters today that the question he gets asked most is whether
daughter Shayne is still with "The Bachelor"'s Matt Grant.
"They are together. They love each other and they haven't set a date yet," he
says. Lamas adds that he approves of the match and that the engaged couple are
supporting him in his effort to "go country." On Friday, Aug. 15, he'll star on CMT's new reality show, "Gone Country," with former *NSYNC member Chris
Kirkpatrick, Catherine Bach, "Idol" alum Mikalah Gordon and Sean Young.
On Monday night in front of all of America, "The Bachelor"'s MATT GRANT dropped down on one knee and proposed to his true love, SHAYNE DAHL LAMAS, daughter of actor LORENZO LAMAS.
On the season finale of "The Bachelor: London Calling," MATT GRANT gave away his final rose, proposing to 22-year-old actress SHAYNE.
"I know when I look in those beautiful brown eyes that you'll always be there for me and I hope that you know that I'll always be there for you," Matt cooed, before getting down on one knee and continuing, "Shayne, I love you and I have something for you. Monkey, will you marry me?"
Matt Grant talks to ET as "The Bachelor -- London Calling" gets ready to reveal his real-life love.
MATT GRANT will make the most important decision of his life on Monday night's episode of "The Bachelor: London Calling," when he gets down on one knee and proposes to either CHELSEA or SHAYNE on the season finale of the series in what is being touted as "the most romantic finale" of all.
Before he announces his final decision, ET spoke to Matt about why he thinks his on-air romance may be the first "Bachelor" relationship to succeed, and about his immediate plans for the future, such as will they set a wedding date?
