In his first TV gig since the highly acclaimed, yet barely watched series, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," was cancelled in 2007, and four years since the end of "Friends," MATTHEW PERRY is heading back to TV.
MICHELLE TRACHTENBERG has wrapped up her role -- for now -- as bad girl Georgina Sparks on "Gossip Girl" and will be hitting the race track as a newbie professional driver in ABC Family's "The Circuit," premiering Sunday, June 8 at 8 p.m.
"I got to be the girl in the fast lane," Michelle says in a one-on-one interview with ET. "I actually got to go behind the wheel of a real race car and whip it around the track. That was fun."

MATTHEW PERRY has just signed on to play the older version of ZAC EFRON in the upcoming comedy '17,' according to Reuters. The former "Friend" plays a middle-aged father who magically wakes up to find out he's a teenager again -- which is where 'High School Musical' star Efron picks up the role.
"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" has officially been dropped from the NBC schedule and will air its last episode tonight before it goes on hiatus.
The series, from "The West Wing" creator AARON SORKIN and THOMAS SCHLAMME, featured the talents of TV vets such as MATTHEW PERRY, BRADLEY WHITFORD and STEVEN WEBER. The series was loosely based on Sorkin's experiences as a TV writer/producer and was one of the most talked-about new shows of the fall season.

After a decade as Chandler on "Friends," MATTHEW PERRY was looking for something 180 degrees different to tackle for his next project. It just so happened that "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" came along, and AARON SORKIN, whom he had worked with on "The West Wing," made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Former "Friends" star COURTENEY COX returns to the tube as the star and executive producer -- along with hubby DAVID ARQUETTE -- of the new FX series, "Dirt," premiering Tuesday, January 2 at 10 p.m.
"The truth is I had no intention of coming back to television right now," Courteney explains. "I love producing and it is fun. We have been developing 'Dirt' for two years -- FX had wanted to add a woman character to the show -- and when the script was written by MATTHEW CARNAHAN, it was fantastic. I was like, 'Wow. I want to do it.'"

Fans of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" can breathe a sigh of relief. NBC has just picked up the fledgling AARON SORKIN-created drama about the goings-on behind the scenes of a late-night sketch show, similar to "Saturday Night Live," for a full season.
"I am pleased to show our support for this outstanding and ambitious effort from executive producers Aaron Sorkin and THOMAS SCHLAMME," said KEVIN REILLY, president of NBC Entertainment. "From the start, they have delivered the superb show that we wanted. The critical support has been rock-solid and there is a passionate core audience.
