MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ checked into a Lynwood, CA, jail Sunday afternoon to begin serving a previously arranged sentence for violating probation stemming from a hit-and-run charge and DUI arrest.

The 29-year-old "Lost" star, who was arrested in Hawaii for DUI in December 2005, was ordered by the court to check in by December 24 to serve a 180 day sentence after she admitted to violating her probation -- by consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device and by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service -- according to the L.A. City Attorney's office.

Former "Lost" star MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ has been sentenced to 180 days in county jail related to a probation violation. She has until 5 p.m. on December 24, 2007 to check in to jail and will not be eligible for early release.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office confirmed to ET that the actress, who went to court Wednesday with her new attorney SHAWN CHAPMAN HOLLEY, admitted that she had violated her probation by not being able to prove that she had completed a community service requirement and also drinking alcohol three times while wearing an electronic alcohol monitoring device.
