ET confirms Morgan Freeman has been released from the Memphis hospital where he was airlifted Sunday night following a serious car accident in Mississippi.

Morgan Freeman's friend and business partner Bill Luckett tells ET the divorce rumors are true, there is a divorce pending between Freeman and his wife of more than 20 years, Myrna Colley-Lee. Luckett also tells ET the couple has been separated for a while.

This just in: Morgan Freeman is recovering well after undergoing surgery Monday following a car accident on Sunday in Mississippi.
Hollywood went Mediterranean tonight as the stars of Woody Allen's newest comedy, 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' -- Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson -- walked the red carpet, and ET's Thea Andrews was there!
Scarlett, who recently got engaged to 'Van Wilder' hunk Ryan Reynolds, talked wedding plans, and also offered her well-wishes to Morgan Freeman -- while director Woody talked about what a thrill it was to work with Scarlett and Penelope on the 'Vicky' set!

A rep for Oscar winner Morgan Freeman is speaking out about his Sunday night car accident.
Morgan and his rep thank everyone for their good wishes and prayers, and the rep also tells ET, "Morgan has a broken arm, elbow and has minor shoulder damage but was in good spirits when I spoke with him a short time ago at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center at The MED, a Level 1 Trauma Center at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. He is having a little bit of surgery this afternoon or tomorrow to help correct the damage. He says he’ll be okay and is looking forward to a full recovery."
Morgan Freeman's business partner, Bill Lucketts, unexpectedly spoke to the press outside the hospital where Morgan is being treated after his car crash last night.

ET has confirmed Oscar winner Morgan Freeman was in a car crash last night at 11:30 near his home town in rural Mississippi and had to be airlifted to Memphis. A spokesman for Memphis Medical Center tells ET that Freeman's "condition is serious."

Danny DeVito is set to direct his own adapted screenplay, 'The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle,' which will star Pierce Brosnan, Morgan Freeman and 14-year-old Saoirse Ronan.
A press release said the family action adventure, set in 1832, is the story of a daring young girl (Ronan) who braves the dangerous high seas aboard a ship with a ruthless captain and a mutinous crew. It’s based on the top-selling, award winning novel of the same name.
