From Britney Spears' more-than-memorable performance to the Tommy Lee/Kid Rock brawl, the MTV Music Awards always makes news -- and now the location for this year's ceremony is even making headlines.
Despite a fire that raged for most of Sunday on the Universal Studios backlot, the show went on at the MTV Movie Awards at the Universal Amphitheatre that night.
The usually fun-filled and hip show didn't disappoint as host MIKE MYERS challenged R&B star CHRIS BROWN to a dance-off at the beginning of the show, which included the usual plethora of wacky skits and star sightings.

ET breaks news that a large fire broke out at the Universal Studios backlot in Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday morning, not far from where today's MTV Movie Awards are scheduled to take place at the Gibson Amphitheater.
Los Angeles fire Capt. FRANK REYNOSO said the blaze, reported just before dawn Sunday on a sound stage on the New York City street set, spread very quickly. At least one explosion was reported and approximately 400 city and county firefighters battled the fire, which officials said was expected to be knocked down in the next few hours.

New presenters have been announced for this weekend's "2008 MTV Movie Awards," which is shaping up to be an A-list affair with big name stars TOM CRUISE, WILL SMITH and CHARLIZE THERON.
Other previously revealed presenters include BEN STILLER, SARAH JESSICA PARKER, WILL FERRELL, STEVE CARELL, JACK BLACK and ROBERT DOWNEY JR.
No MTV Movie Awards show would be complete without its share of spoofs and skits, and on June 1, host MIKE MYERS plans to deliver!
Mike enlisted pals ELIJAH WOOD and actor/director JON FAVREAU for a hilarious scene about distractions on movie sets -- and ET is there!
