You could say KELLY CLARKSON is firing on all cylinders. Ever since winning "American Idol" in 2002, the 24-year-old singer has sold millions of albums, won two Grammys and, it was just announced Thursday, has partnered up with NASCAR.

The box office race between 'Snakes on a Plane' and 'Talladega Nights' was almost too close to call this weekend.

'Talladega Nights' made $14.1 million as opposed to 'Snakes'' $13.9 million over the weekend (Friday - Sunday). But 'Snakes' made an additional $1.4 million at its 10 p.m. Thursday screenings -- by adding that to its totals, the film slithers into the top spot with $15.3 million.

'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby' took another victory lap at the box office this weekend. The WILL FERRELL comedy added another $23 million to its coffers, beating out the competition for a second week.

'Step Up,' the teen dancing flick starring CHANNING TATUM, JENNA DEWAN and RACHEL GRIFFITHS, debuted in second place with $21.1 million.

A racecar driver named 'Ricky Bobby' sped away with a box office win this weekend. WILL FERRELL's 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,' took first place with $47 million in its debut. The film co-stars JOHN C. REILLY, MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN and SACHA BARON COHEN (aka "Ali G").

In second was the animated pic, 'Barnyard: The Original Party Animals,' which features the voices of COURTENEY COX ARQUETTE and KEVIN JAMES. That film took in $16 million in its premiere weekend.
