The third season of "Project Runway" kicks off on Wednesday, July 12 with a group of fresh faces, as well as a few familiar ones. Back for another round of design challenges are host and executive producer HEIDI KLUM; Department of Fashion Design Chair for Parsons The New School For Design and "Project Runway" mentor TIM GUNN; as well as judges MICHAEL KORS, the principal designer at Michael Kors, Inc., and NINA GARCIA, fashion director, ELLE magazine.
"I think [the quality of design] is getting more sophisticated and more professional," Heidi says of the third season hopefuls. "The contestants are saying when they come to the auditions, 'We are real designers and we need someone to see us. We are in a small town and no one sees us.' They see how big 'Project Runway' has become and it's real. They want to use this as a platform."
