Music legend QUINCY JONES was honored with a Leadership Award by the Recording Academy on July 28 for his humanitarian, creative and charitable contributions at the Grammy Foundation's annual signature gala, Starry Night, which raises funds to benefit the foundation's music education and archiving and preservation programs.
A host of Grammy-award winning artists performed for Quincy, the Ambassador of the Recording Academy's 50th Anniversary Celebration, including GLORIA ESTEFAN, JOHN LEGEND, KANYE WEST and PATTI LaBELLE. Other celebs in attendance included NAOMI CAMPBELL, GAYLE KING and ROBERT DeNIRO. The dinner and benefit concert was sponsored by Gibson Foundation and Lincoln.
CELINE DION will debut her new song, "I Knew I Loved You," at this year's Oscars.
The acclaimed singer will perform the song during a tribute to ENNIO MORRICONE, according to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Italian composer will receive an honorary Oscar at this year's awards.
