'Troy' star ERIC BANA and 'The Notebook''s RACHEL McADAMS will play time traveling companions in a big-screen adaptation of the best-selling novel The Time Traveler's Wife.
Written by author AUDREY NIFFENEGGER, the story centers on a Chicago librarian who tries to maintain a relationship with the woman he loves while grappling with a genetic disorder that gives him the ability to travel in time during stressful situations. The object of his affection is a young heiress who struggles with his lengthy disappearances.
What a difference a year makes. Twelve months ago, one would have been a bit hard-pressed in identifying the actors listed below. But now, thanks to several successful and high-profile movies, these stars are no doubt on their way to becoming household names.
RACHEL McADAMS captured audiences' attention last year in the romantic tearjerker 'The Notebook' and as LINDSAY LOHAN's wickedly cruel tormenter in the satirical comedy 'Mean Girls.' But in 2005, the comely Canadian positioned herself as one to watch with two big summer films -- the mega-hit 'Wedding Crashers' opposite OWEN WILSON and VINCE VAUGHN as well as the WES CRAVEN thriller 'Red Eye.' In December, McAdams closes out 2005 with the family comedy/drama 'The Family Stone,' starring alongside DIANE KEATON, SARAH JESSICA PARKER, CLAIRE DANES and DERMOT MULRONEY.

Diane Keaton was the first famous name aboard the project, and Sarah Jessica says everyone else joined on just to have an opportunity to work with the veteran Oscar winner.

In the movie, set during Christmas in a small college town, Sarah Jessica plays Meredith, an uptight business woman whose boyfriend, Everett Stone (Mulroney), invites her home for the first time with the intent to propose. Feeling at odds with the cozy, casual nature of the close-knit Stone family, Meredith feels contempt and completely out of place.
