The "American Idol" performance show will be airing on a new night next
week. Instead of Tuesday, the top 10 will take the stage on Wednesday
night and they will celebrate the record company that launched many
famous careers, Motown.
OK! magazine reports that the couple of two years wed in a black-and-white themed ceremony at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook, Ala., and that nearly 200 guests attended.
Earlier this year, ET reported that former "American Idol" winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard had been dropped by their record labels. Today, we have confirmed that season six runner-up Blake Lewis has joined the unfortunate two and has been dropped by Arista Records.
The label issued the following statement to ET: "Arista Records will not be picking up Blake's option and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."
Baseball has its trading cards. Now "American Idol" will have its own limited-edition collectable stamps featuring KELLY CLARKSON, RUBEN STUDDARD, FANTASIA, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, TAYLOR HICKS, JORDIN SPARKS and the soon-to-be named winner of season seven.
The Velvet Teddy Bear is back! "American Idol" season two winner RUBEN STUDDARD sat down with our KEVIN FRAZIER to talk about his new album, his duties on "American Idol Rewind," his former fellow contestants, and his nearly 100-pound weight loss!
Out of the 103,000 people who auditioned for "American Idol" this year, tonight it is down to the Final Two -- JORDIN SPARKS and BLAKE LEWIS. The two remaining hopefuls will compete one final time -- and then on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. on FOX, the sixth "American Idol" will join the ranks of KELLY CLARKSON, RUBEN STUDDARD, FANTASIA, CARRIE UNDERWOOD and TAYLOR HICKS.
On tonight's show, both Jordin and Blake will perform the song that won the "American Idol" songwriters competition, sing a new song that they selected themselves, and then rock the audience with an encore of one of their earlier favorites.
JANET JACKSON floored everyone with her noticeable weight gain earlier in the year, but she revealed to ET how she lost the weight -- and why she gained it in the first place.
"I put on the pounds for a film I was to do ... which a lot of people didn't know," Janet tells our KEVIN FRAZIER. "They wanted a full-figured woman."
By making changes to his diet and starting an exercise program, RUBEN STUDDARD dropped almost 100 pounds over the summer -- now the signer wants to help others lose weight, too.
The Birmingham native has joined Scale Back Alabama, an eight-week weight-loss initiative that seeks to encourage the 25 percent of the residents in his home state who are obese to lose 10 pounds during the span of the campaign.
RUBEN STUDDARD is speaking out about dropping close to 100 pounds thanks to his new vegetarian diet.
Dubbed the "Velvet Teddy Bear" during his days as a contestant on "American Idol," Ruben once weighed over 400 pounds. He says he recently slimmed down by cutting back on his food and becoming a vegetarian.
It was an "American Idol" shocker Wednesday night when RYAN SEACREST announced the bottom three: MANDISA, ELLIOTT YAMIN and PARIS BENNETT! But when the final numbers were tallied, it was the 29-year-old, plus-sized singer from Antioch, TN, who received the lowest number of votes.
Next Tuesday night, the "American Idol" hopefuls will belt out songs from classic-rock band QUEEN, at 8/7 central on FOX! Then, Wednesday night is a special, one-hour results show at 8:30/7:30 central -- as Queen will perform -- and another singer is sent home!
It's always something with "American Idol" and Tuesday's night performance show, with more than 26 million viewers, was no exception as brothers TERRELL and DERRELL created an on-stage incident.
"There was a misunderstanding," "Idol" judge and ET special correspondent PAULA ABDUL tells MARK STEINES on a visit to Stage 28. "But that doesn't make up for their behavior."
"American Idol" hit Sin City on its audition tour of the United States, and on Tuesday night's hourlong episode of the search for the next singing superstar, PAULA ABDUL, RANDY JACKSON and SIMON COWELL rated the talent in Las Vegas, but Simon couldn't resist sparking a new controversy with a few snide comments about the size of the contestants. Who can forget when he said, "We can't afford the food bill," when the judges rejected a plus-sized singer?
"I am sure he is loving the letters coming in from all the eating disorder associations," comments Paula, who popped by Stage 26 to fill MARY HART in on the latest "Idol" chatter and behind-the-scenes scoop. "He has the easiest job. He can say whatever he wants to say and go smoke a cigarette. I have to sit there and I just feel so bad, because afterwards we take a five minute break and we have to see the kids and the parents on the way out."
More than 32 million people tuned in to watch Wednesday night's "American Idol" San Francisco auditions and were shocked when a battle between the judges made SIMON COWELL stalk out of the room and leave the city!
"He sure can dish it out," PAULA ABDUL tells MARY HART on the ET set. "They said Randy and I kept winding him up by saying there was something wrong with his ears. He was being obnoxious to the girl who was singing. He had just had it. Not only did he leave, but he left and took the plane home!"
"American Idol" continues its countdown to the Final 24 this week, with excerpts from the best and the worst singers from auditions that took place this summer in San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Denver and Greensboro.
The judges -- PAULA ABDUL, RANDY JACKSON and Mr. Nasty SIMON COWELL -- will be selecting the group who get to move on to the Hollywood Round, which will begin airing on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
