'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian' raked in more than $56.6 million its opening weekend, while 'Iron Man' continued its domination by fetching $31.2 million at the box office.
The Walt Disney flick, the second in a series of 'Narnia' books by C.S. LEWIS, easily took the number one weekend spot, according to studio estimates for the May 16-18 period.
'Iron Man' continued to blow away the competition this weekend, as ROBERT DOWNEY JR.'s superhero flick picked up another $50.5 million at the box office, bringing its total domestic receipts to $177.1 million, and the international total to a whopping $276.1 million, according to preliminary studio estimates.
In the movie directed by JON FAVREAU ('Elf,' 'Zathura'), ROBERT DOWNEY, JR. plays Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor whose captivity by insurgents motivates him to build a suit of armor to escape. Once free, he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications and fine-tunes the high-tech suit to protect the world as Iron Man! GWYNETH PALTROW, TERRENCE HOWARD and JEFF BRIDGES co-star.

'Speed Racer' himself, EMILE HIRSCH, spills secrets to ET's KEVIN FRAZIER about the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the anime classic from the WACHOWSKI BROTHERS, in theaters next May!
'Speed Racer' week continues on ET as another one of the film's stars, CHRISTINA RICCI, gives us a sneak peek behind the scenes of the highly anticipated movie due in theaters next May.
Directed by LARRY and ANDY WACHOWSKI (The 'Matrix' trilogy), 'Speed Racer' is a live-action version of the popular '60s cartoon series, with Christina playing Trixie and EMILE HIRSCH ('Into the Wild') taking on the titular role. The surefire blockbuster also stars MATTHEW FOX, JOHN GOODMAN and SUSAN SARANDON.
"Lost" doc MATTHEW FOX has joined the cast of 'Speed Racer' as the mysterious Racer X, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Adapted from the '60s Japanese anime cartoon, 'Speed Racer' centers on a young driver, played by 'Alpha Dog' star EMILE HIRSCH, and his gadget-filled Mach 5 racecar.
CHRISTINA RICCI is set to go from indie film queen to big-budget heroine in the WACHOWSKI BROTHERS live-action adaptation of the 1960s cartoon "Speed Racer."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 'Black Snake Moan' star will play opposite 'Alpha Dog' and 'Lords of Dogtown' hottie EMILE HIRSCH -- who will play the iconic title character -- as his girlfriend, Trixie.
Oscar winner RUSSELL CROWE will make his directorial debut with 'Bra Boys,' a drama based on the counterculture surf community in Australia, according to Daily Variety.
The project reunites Crowe with Oscar-winning 'Cinderella Man' producer BRIAN GRAZER, who will produce the new project. Crowe narrated a documentary on the 'Bra Boys,' three brothers who began the underground surfer movement in the inner-Sydney seaside suburb of Maroubra. It has not been announced whether or not Crowe will also star in the project.
