ET has confirmed that Bernie Mac has been hospitalized in Chicago for pneumonia. The 50-year-old funnyman's rep says that the star "is responding well to treatment and will be released soon," and added that the illness is not related to Bernie's diagnosis of the autoimmune disease sarcoidosis, which causes inflammation in such organs as the lungs and lymph nodes. Kelsey Grammer plays the President of the United States opposite Kevin Costner's everyman voter in the new political comedy 'Swing Vote,' and -- for the first time on camera -- the veteran star has a dramatic health update for our own Mary Hart almost two months after his reported mild heart attack.
"We originally said it was just a mild heart attack, and it actually wasn't very mild," Kelsey informs Mary. "They had to blast me twice and get me started all over again."

The 55-year-old former 'Dirty Dancing' star, who was seen at a Lakers basketball game over the weekend, is reportedly living a full and busy life due to his positive response to treatment, including lots of traveling, socializing and birthday shopping for his wife LISA.
