Music icon Sting and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Jewel were among many celebrities caught by HTV cameras over the weekend at Hollywood's famed Chateau Marmont.

The Police played their final gig Thursday night at Madison Square Garden, holstering an ambitious 150-date (and highly lucrative) reunion tour.
At the concert, the Sting-led, legendary reggae-rock trio covered Cream ("Sunshine of Your Love"), Jimi Hendrix ("Purple Haze") and of course broke out plenty of the signature tunes that made them famous, like "Roxanne," "King of Pain," "Every Breath You Take" and a version of "Message in a Bottle" that saw them accompanied on stage by two dozen members of New York City Police band, says the Associated Press.
THE POLICE are about to cast their last message in a bottle. The legendary rock trio fronted by STING announced that they will play their final concert later this year in NYC, the Associated Press reports.
"We kicked off our very first American tour at (former New York club) CBGBs in 1978 and this summer, 30 years later, our journey will come full circle as we play our final show here in New York City," the band said in a statement.
It's back! The fifth season of "American Idol" returns with the search for the next singing superstar. Auditions were held over the summer in San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Denver and Greensboro with judges RANDY JACKSON, PAULA ABDUL and SIMON COWELL deciding which of the hopefuls have what it takes to go to Hollywood! The audition city tryouts air Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will be followed by the Hollywood rounds, beginning Feb. 14, as the countdown to the Top 24 semifinalists -- 12 males and 12 females -- begins.

In the spirit of Halloween, the A-list roster of guests put on their best costumes. The Divine Miss M was appropriately dressed up as a rose; EARTHA KITT came as a fairy godmother; Both JOHN LITHGOW and CHEVY CHASE were the legendary ANDY WARHOL; and YOKO ONO came as an angel.

Bad-boy EMINEM gives it all he's got on the pounding "Lose Yourself," which is also up for Song of the Year.
The biggest award of the night is undoubtedly Album of the Year. The elite group vying for this award includes MISSY "MISDEMEANOR" ELLIOTT, who flips it wild-style on "Work It," and Goth-rockers EVANESCENCE with the haunting "Going Under." They're joined by OUTKAST with the Latin-flavored track "The Way You Move," and Justin Timberlake who croons his heart out on the stirring R&B number "Cry Me A River."
Song of the Year hopefuls include diva CHRISTINA AGUILERA, with her touching track "Beautiful," and pop-rocker AVRIL LAVIGNE with the soaring "I'm With You." R&B legend LUTHER VANDROSS struts his smooth style on "Dance With My Father," and the late WARREN ZEVON gets down and dirty with the gritty "Keep Me In Your Heart."
Other notable tracks include 50 CENT's "In Da Club," SEAN PAUL's dub-style tune "Gimme The Light," and MATCHBOX TWENTY's catchy rocker "Unwell."
