The backstabbing continued on the current, contentious season of "Survivor " as the final four women teamed up to outwit the sole surviving man.
In a move suggested by CIRIE and carried out by NATALIE, the women convinced shaggy-haired, good-natured ERIK to give up his immunity necklace, before unceremoniously ousting the unsuspecting young ice cream scooper from Michigan from the game.
And then there were five: "Survivor: Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites" is down to its final five -- Three favorites: AMANDA, CIRIE and PARVATI -- and two fans: ERIK and NATALIE.
The action heats up on "Survivor: Micronesia" on Thursday when one castaway makes what may be the ultimate sacrifice in exchange for immunity. Also, JAMES continues to be annoyed with the women in the tribe, but not so much so that he and PARVATI stop their flirtation.
In an eventful episode of "Survivor Micronesia," ELIZA made a last ditch effort to stay on the show, attempting to play a fake Immunity Idol, but the New York law school student was sent home regardless.
The tribes merge when "Survivor: Micronesia" airs this Thursday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
"I love the merge because so much happens when you bring the two tribes together who have already been switched," JEFF PROBST declares. "Now you bring them together and it is the beginning of the individual game and alliances are thrown into disarray."
It was bye-bye for favorite AMI as the favorites stopped picking off the fans one-by-one long enough to get rid of one of their own.
In the end, the Malakal tribe, down to four members, decided that earnest fan ERIK was more trustworthy than the 35-year-old from Colorado who had been systematically going behind their backs to try to form new alliances.
It's a battle of the sexes when "Survivor: Micronesia" returns to CBS at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, as some of the women contemplate joining forces against the men.
But it isn't just the women. "James continues to be annoyed with the women on his tribe," host JEFF PROBST reveals.
As "Survivor" aired Wednesday night at 8 p.m. due to NCAA basketball, the game featured one surprise and one more predictable outcome.
In a surprise move, KATHY opted to go home and quit the game, after her Airai tribe was besieged by rain, bats and rats in their cave, and uncooked food due to lack of fire. The more predictable outcome was the ouster of TRACY, as the Favorites continued to pick off the Fans.
When "Survivor: Micronesia" moves to Wednesday night this week to accommodate March Madness, there is a "Survivor" first, according to host JEFF PROBST, who says that it has been brewing for a while. "It is dramatic and impacts the game," is all he will reveal.
In an episode rife with the usual "Survivor" scheming and conniving, favorite JONATHAN was forced to leave the show early due to a serious infection, while fan CHET volunteered to be voted off, also because he said he wasn't feeling up to par.
In the first reward challenge, the Malakal and Airai tribes had to swim and carry planks and sticks from a floating platform to the beach. On the beach, they had to use the boards and planks to form a blockade inside a tunnel. Once their blockade was built, the other team had to try to go through their blockade.
The tribe spoke on Thursday night in a shocker of a "Survivor" episode -- and physically strong JOEL was sent packing.
This week's episode saw the fans and the faves merged as new tribes were chosen. OZZY of the favorites became the first to choose teammates for the newly created Malakal tribe, while NATALIE of the fans was the first Airai tribe member.
Although he made it all the way to the final four on 'Survivor: Fiji,' YAU-MAN CHAN became only the third contestant to be voted off of 'Survivor: Micronesia' on Thursday night.
After losing an immunity challenge involving tossing coconuts into a net, the "Favorites" tribe was split when it came down to who to vote off. JONATHAN PENNER led a strong push from to vote off PARVATI SHALLOW, but swing vote CIRIE FIELDS refused to be swayed and voted for Yau-Man.
