SALLY FIELD won an Emmy for her performance in "Sybil," a TV movie based on the eponymous book by FLORA RHETA SCHREIBER. On Saturday, June 7, CBS will air an updated version of the real life of the woman we know as Sybil, who created 16 other personalities to deal with the pain caused by the abuse she experienced at the hands of her mother throughout her childhood.
"You think it's not possible, that this kind of abuse could go on in a small town like that and nobody noticed? Nobody noticed? The doctor didn't notice? The father didn't notice? It's insanity," says JESSICA LANGE, who plays Dr. CORNELIA WILBUR, the role previously played by JOANNE WOODWARD, who helps Sybil combine her multiple personalities and become a functional adult.
