Actor/director ROBERT REDFORD, who worked with late director SYDNEY POLLACK on seven movies, including 'Havana,' 'Three Days of the Condor,' 'The Way We Were' and 'Out of Africa,' expressed sadness over Monday's loss of his friend to cancer.

"Sydney's and my relationship both professionally and personally covers 40 years," he tells ET. "It's too personal to express in a sound bite. I would only hope for the sake of dignity that his family can get the peace it deserves at this time."
