BRAD PITT may have starred in the 'Ocean's' movie franchise, but in a case of life imitating art, famed Italian jewelry maker Damiani -- who once crafted wedding rings for the actor and JENNIFER ANISTON -- was robbed in an elaborate heist that stole away an estimated $20-30 million in jewels.

On Sunday, TILDA SWINTON and a number of Oscar attendees were wearing Damiani jewels during the annual awards show -- while across the globe in Milan that same day, the jeweler's showroom was taken hostage by thieves!
