"Project Runway" mentor Tim Gunn says he's excited to see the Obama family bringing style back to the White House and ridding Washington of the "frump factor" fashions.
It looks like champagne dreams and caviar wishes when the 16 new designers hit New York City for the highly anticipated fifth season of "Project Runway," premiering on Bravo on Wednesday, July 16 at 10 p.m. But as quickly as the bubbles burst in their champagne glasses, the designers are rudely woken up by their series mentor Tim Gunn, who gets them up and out for their first challenge.
"I feel as though we set the bar higher every season," says host and judge Heidi Klum. "We've got some truly talented, innovative and deeply creative designers this year, and I think it's fair to say, the most diverse -- everyone from a rocker chick who mostly works with leather to a more bohemian, surfer boy -- and everything in between."

It's makeover week on "The Biggest Loser," and no one less than "Project Runway"'s fashion guru TIM GUNN drops by the campus to help the contestants "make it work" and develop a fashion sense for their new bodies.
"Tim Gunn is amazing," declares BRITTANY, who has lost 49 pounds. "When he walked out, I was blown away that he was here and going to help us. When I walked out in the blue dress that I picked out for myself, he said, 'You look ready for the red carpet right now. You look great.'"
We've seen some kooky things on the fashion runways, but last night "Project Runway" outdid them all when one of its four competing finalists, costume designer CHRIS MARCH, trimmed his elegant jackets, and even fashioned a skirt, out of real human hair! Yes, that's actual hair peeking out from the sleeves of that elegant jacket and sweeping down from the willowy model's legs. Critic and Parsons New School for Design chair TIM GUNN said it best when he told Chris that his "gag reflex" was engaging, and suggested that perhaps Chris had been "living in the monkey house too long!"

The final five designers from season four -- CHRISTIAN, CHRIS, RAMI, SWEET P and JILLIAN -- showed their collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York on Friday, Feb. 8. Viewers will get the opportunity to see the designs when the finale airs on Wednesday, March 5, at 10 p.m. on Bravo.

His new makeover series, "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," debuts at 10 p.m. Thursday on Bravo TV. Replacing "Queer Eye," Tim says he plans to act as a "fashion therapist" to two or three confused folks per show.
