Penelope Cruz plays Javier Bardem's tempestuous ex-wife in Woody Allen's new comedy, 'Vicky Cristina Barecelona,' and she tells ET what makes her character tick!
"In many ways I didn't want to portray a crazy person; I wanted to get to really understand the reality that she lives in -- the one that she defends," the Oscar-nominated star tells ET's own Thea Andrews.

Scarlett Johansson is speaking out about the media hooplah surrounding her e-mail exchanges with Barack Obama -- electronic exchanges that have been characterized as being more than just political in nature.
"It seemed to me to be like a product of extreme sexism," Johansson told the Associated Press, "and I kept thinking to myself, 'God, if this was just, like, Kal Penn or George Clooney or any of the other [Obama] surrogates or supporters ... there wouldn't be [any] question about it. Nobody would even talk about it."

New Interview: 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' star Scarlett Johansson chats about everything from her much-talked-about kissing scenes with co-stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem to her involvement with Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
In theaters August 15, 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' casts Scarlett as an emotionally and sexually adventurous American woman in Barcelona who becomes romantically entangled with a charismatic painter (played by new Oscar winner Bardem) and his tempestuous ex-wife (played by Cruz).

Hollywood went Mediterranean tonight as the stars of Woody Allen's newest comedy, 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' -- Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson -- walked the red carpet, and ET's Thea Andrews was there!
Scarlett, who recently got engaged to 'Van Wilder' hunk Ryan Reynolds, talked wedding plans, and also offered her well-wishes to Morgan Freeman -- while director Woody talked about what a thrill it was to work with Scarlett and Penelope on the 'Vicky' set!

PENELOPE CRUZ is in Cannes to debut her first collaboration with Oscar-winning director WOODY ALLEN, 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona,' and she's talking to ET about making the film.
"I’m such a big fan of Woody Allen's movies," Penelope tells ET, continuing, "I couldn't believe it when they called me to be a part of this."
