Whoopi Goldberg is spending her summer vacation on Broadway with the cast of Xanadu. As she mentioned earlier on "The View," she’s singing in the role of Caliope, one of the Greek muses who tries to thwart the love affair of lead character Kira.
"The kids in the cast — they are fantastic," she tells the Associated Press. "They lead me. They know when I get lost. They come and they dance over and take me where I need to be. Everybody's been really great about the fact that I'm not 100 percent solid — but I will be by Monday or Tuesday (of next week)."
Whoopi Goldberg treated the grandkids to a fun-filled day at Disneyland, California this weekend. "The View" co-host has been out West shooting the a.m. chat-fest in Las Vegas.
"The 62nd Annual Tony Awards" took place on Sunday -- and ET was on the red carpet and behind the scenes at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for all the gossip and glamour from the prestigious event. Many stars also spoke out on the sad loss of newsman TIM RUSSERT.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG got choked up on "The View" Monday when her co-hosts began talking about her exclusion from an Oscar-night montage -- but the omission was an accident, the awards show's producer GIL CATES tells ET just one hour after chatting with Whoopi herself.

Tuesday morning was WHOOPI GOLDBERG's first day on the job as the new permanent co-host of "The View." And she was off to an auspicious start with a humorous message of best wishes from New York City Mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG and a standing ovation from the audience.
All the other ladies of "The View" were also on hand -- BARBARA WALTERS, JOY BEHAR and ELISABETH HASSELBECK, who showed off her baby bump, and informed viewers she is due in 70 days. "I am all bangs and boobs," she joked.
BARBARA WALTERS made the big announcement this morning: WHOOPI GOLDBERG is the newest co-host to join "The View." Now, ROSIE O'DONNELL speaks out on the choice.
"Whoopi is fantastic in every way and perfect for the job," Rosie says. "She's amazing and one of my favorites."
