The WGA has finalized a tentative deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) that could potentially end the three-month-long strike, according to Variety. The WGA's leadership will now present the pact to Guild members in Los Angeles and New York to gauge whether the 10,000-plus striking writers find its terms acceptable, the mag reports. A formal decision is expected on Sunday, with WGA members returning to work as early as Monday if the deal is reached.

As a result of the writers' strike, NBC plans to air so-called "vintage" episodes of "The Tonight Show with JAY LENO" this week, starring box-office stars JENNIFER ANISTON, MATT DAMON, JOHNNY DEPP, TOM HANKS and JULIA ROBERTS.

The recycled shows will show the stars in their very first headline appearances: Jennifer and Johnny in 1995, Matt in 2000, Julia in 1993 and "Bosom Buddies" up-and-comer Tom in 1992. The episodes start airing Monday night on NBC.

ET has confirmed that the jobs of the non-writing staffs of both "The Tonight Show with JAY LENO" and "Late Night with CONAN O'BRIEN" are in jeopardy. They have been given notice that they will be laid off next week as a result of the WGA strike.

Leno has refused to cross the picket line, so the late-night show is considering using guest hosts to get the show back into production. But those involved are hoping that Leno will change his mind and return to work in order to save the jobs of the non-writing staff.
