The actor previously skipped the Critic’s Choice Awards after the news broke.

After being a no-show at the Critic’s Choice Awards last week, James Franco is planning to attend this Sunday’s SAG Awards, a source tells ET.

“James will still attend the SAG Awards because there is no reason not to,” the source tells ET. “He will carry on supporting the cause and moving forward.”

Franco, 39, was previously accused of sexually exploitative behavior in five claims including former students earlier this month. The Disaster Artist star has denied the accusations, calling them “not accurate.”

Though he denied the allegations on both The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers, Franco chose not to attend the Critic’s Choice Awards after an expose was printed in The Los Angeles Times, accusing him of “inappropriate or sexually exploitative behavior.”

He was accused of an "abuse of power," and of "storming off" when two female acting students wouldn't take their tops off for a scene. One student claimed, "He would always make everybody think there were possible roles on the table if we were to perform sexual acts or take off our shirts."

The actor’s attorney, Michael Plonsker, disputes the allegations.  Franco won a Critic’s Choice Award for his Disaster Artist role, for which he also picked up a Golden Globe.

The source tells ET, “James is in distress [because] this has been incredibly difficult to deal with and navigate, not because he feels guilty. He is navigating this situation and wants to ensure he is doing the right thing, supporting the movement and not undermining any women.”

A second source previously told ET that the actor’s friends are worried about him, saying, “He’s not in a good place. They’re watching him around the clock. He’s really struggling.”
