Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa are celebrating the one-year anniversary of their first date.

The actress commemorated the occasion with a romantic snapshot and a short history of how their love story came to be.

Hudson, 38, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of her and her beau locking lips on a wooden bridge while hiking through the hills.

"The first time I met Danny I was 23 and enormously pregnant with Ryder," Hudson reflected, referring to her now-13-year-old son from her relationship with ex-husband Chris Robinson. "His step sisters are my best friends @sarafoster @erinfoster and so it goes we have been in the same circle for over a decade!"

"A year ago today Danny took me on a hike and what I thought was just a hike with a family friend turned very quickly into an unexpected first date," Hudson continued in the caption, quickly explaining that "no moves were made" on that hiking date and that it actually took Fujikawa "months" to make his first move.

"As a kiss on this bridge would have been nice, the kiss a year later was so much sweeter," Hudson wrote. "So on our 15th year of knowing each other we were able to open our hearts to each other to feel so much pure love and it’s been truly incredible! Happy first date anniversary baby. #LoveThisMan."

Hudson -- who also shares a 6-year-old son, Bingham, with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy -- was first romantically linked with Fujikawa -- a singer-songwriter, producer and founder of Lightwave Records -- back in March, when they were spotted packing on the PDA in New York City.

They later made their official red carpet debut at the premiere of Hudson's mom Goldie Hawn's comedy Snatched back in May.

ET caught up with Hudson in September at the premiere of her film Marshall at the Urbanworld Film Festival in New York City, where the cute couple shined as they posed for photos.

Fujikawa was nice enough to hang back and hold Hudson's clutch as she spoke with the press, and the actress had nothing but praise for his kindness.

"He's standing very nicely, waiting," laughed Hudson as she smiled over at her handsome date. "He's the best! I've known him a long time." Check out the video below for more on the couple's adorable relationship.
