Kate Hudson wasn't about to pass up a historic celestial event.

The 38-year-old actress took a break from filming the upcoming Sia film Sister to catch the highly anticipated solar eclipse on Monday afternoon with her co-star Maddie Ziegler. Hudson, who recently shaved her head for the role, was spotted hard at work in New York City's MacArthur Park alongside Ziegler and Hamilton's Leslie Odom Jr.

The duo donned a pair of the requisite protective glasses to get a glimpse of the monumental event, where New Yorkers had a view of 70 percent coverage of the moon passing over the sun.

"Quick time-out! #SettingIntentions @maddieziegler," Hudson captioned an Instagram photo of her and the 14-year-old Dance Moms star.

Sia's teenage protégé posted the same snap, writing, "Watching the solar eclipse between takes."

In a recent interview with ET's Lauren Zima, Ziegler promised the Sia-directed project would be "unlike anything you've seen before" and credited Hudson with teaching her "everything."

"She's amazing, she's incredible," the teen dancer gushed about the Almost Famous actress. "She's becoming like a family member to me, I love her so much."
